Week Booster...

Hi guys, hope you all had a really relaxing weekend and ready to achieve all you can this week? I had a mix of activities, from attending weddings, to doing some work, catching up with friends and family and most importantly having ME time. Yea very necessary lol. I was having a conversation with one of my siblings, and his sense of humour is just funny most of the time. And at a point he says,

"As Light travels faster than sound, So is a Persons appearance until they open their mouth to speak".

Cant remember if he says, he read it from somewhere or made it up himself but its been going on in my head and I had to share. I really had a good laugh when he said that.

Anyways, I have been busier than the bee, and so I have not been updating as frequently as I should. Its not about how frequently I update I believe  but to what extent I inspire you which  is my joy, my drive, and my passion. There is much to life that we can achieve/accomplish, that we can be. But it all starts wth our mindsets, which influences our perception and in the long run how we do things and the value we place on what we do. That said I just want to encourage someone, like I always do to myself......

Tempted To Quit? Remember that "Nothing good comes easy, give it one more try and tomorrow another try, and the next day try in a different way, at a different time, using a different skill, a different approach, a different technology, employ experts with a different view. To succeed, Determination is Key.... Where there is a will, there will always be a way.

The bible summarises it by saying, "I can do ALL things, through Christ who gives me strength". The key word is ALL.

Have a great week people and remember,

Never quit, until you a certain you have done ALL- Ellyeleanor

LET GOD LEAD...

The older we get, the more difficult it becomes to make life changing decisions, we think over these decisions, they keep us up at night, we seek peoples opinion, and we seek for more peoples opinion, we weigh our options, do the cost-benefit analysis, re-evaluate our scale of preference and of recent, various people have resorted to seeking opinions from just any body, through forums, blogs etc.
We do all this because, we do not know what lies ahead, we conclude from peoples experiences and opinions and many times it pays to listen and at other times we pay dearly for listening. But in all, I believe and know that when God leads, we can walk into that situation blind folded, because He is already in the future and He will never lead us into evil.
And as I read, this devotional from UCB today, it couldnt have been put rightly. Contemplating a difficult decision? Seek God's opinion....

‘…Leave…go to the land I will show you.’
 Genesis 12:1 NIV

Where you are matters. You can’t grow bananas in Alaska, but you can grow them in Jamaica. What’s the point? Simply this: sometimes you need to change your location in order to succeed in what God’s called you to do. Look at the life of Elijah. ‘The word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there”’ (1 Kings 17:2-4 NKJV). Ravens normally don’t deliver food, they eat it. But when you do what God tells you and go where He sends you, you move from the natural realm to the supernatural one. God not only has a plan for your life, He has a place for it. Yes, you must have the right strategy, but you must also be in the right spot. ‘…I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go’ (Isaiah 48:17 NIV). If your heart’s desire is to honour God in all things, He will show you the best location to succeed in. Indeed, He will go ahead of you and rearrange circumstances to your advantage. He did it for Abraham. ‘By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going’ (Hebrews 11:8 NIV). Ask God, and He will show you where to go.

Song Of The Day....

On the cross, He gaves us His all. He said, it is Finished.... What will you give to the saviour?? I give Him my mind, my heart, my soul, my all. It couldnt have been sung any better. God bless you Damita...

God OR Jesus??

I was out with a couple friends on Good Friday, and at the famous Trafalgar square, there was a show which featured the essence of Easter. As we walked around the square, we noticed this caucasian lady, who was apparently bumping into these two black young men. The sight was actually funny and caught our attention and as we stopped to observe the whole drama, I realised that one of the young men had a life tortoise culped in his hands and at that I said to myself, okay! shes probably intrigued by the sight of the creature. But as I turned to leave I heard her say to them Jesus is the son of God, to which one of the men replied, we believe in only one God and the woman goes okayyyyy, I see you are not christian, you are definitely.... and she calls a different religion. The young men however keep arguing that they believe in only one God and at that point I shake my head and smile as I walk away with my people.

It again brings the message home that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. In fact He is the only way. Easter wouldnt be complete without Christ. On the cross we see Gods love personified, we see His patience, His humility, His forgiveness, His understanding of human frailty when He cries out"Father why has thou forsaken me", we see his non-judgmental attitude when He forgives the sinner beside Him on the cross, the extent of His love, when He cries out "Father forgive them for they know not what they do", and His power over death and the enemy when He finally says "It is FINISHED". Indeed GOD so loved, the world JOHN3:16 and Jesus is the proof of His love. Easter eggs, turkeys, pancakes, roasts, wines etc do not depict the real meaning of Easter. The sole purpose of Easter is to reconcile men to God..... Do you know JESUS??

Unabashed Praise!!!

I sing for joy, I sing aloud, I jump, I praise, I dance, I just give Him unabashed praise because of His goodness, not because of my disposition. Because when I look at the sun, the skies, sunset and sunrise, seasons and events and even the act of sleeping and waking up alone, prove not only that there is a God but that He is a good God. And as I read the scriptures yesterday, the thought of the awesomeness of the God I worship has remained in my Heart. Isaiah 40 vs 18-23 With whom, then, will you compare God? To what image will you liken him? 19 As for an idol, a metalworker casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it. 20 A person too poor to present such an offering selects wood that will not rot; they look for a skilled worker to set up an idol that will not topple. 21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? 22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. 23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. Really He is incomparable, He is indescribable, He is indeed my God. Do you know Him today?? Give Him a Try?

Thoughts Of The Day

I was thinking through a couple things in my life, and the memories  that I have of some people who have been part of my thoughts. Some really beautiful, some nerve wrecking, some challenging, others inspiring, while with some caution is needed and others I could actually fart in their faces as I laugh without fear of judgment(woops).
But in all, I keep realising that there is nothing new under the sun. However, the beautiful things in life come free, however having a positive impact on someone else is really hardwork, falling in love isnt a walk in the park and staying in love is the journey of a lifetime.

I consider all these, and marvel at the Fathers love for us. As we go into the new quarter may this love keep us all, and may our achievements be more than we could ever have imagined.

CV TIPS

It is the 1st of April, and in some countries, this marks the beginning of a new financial year with most companies opening their doors to recruitment of new staff. I came across this article however and I know it will be of immense benefit to some. Have a beautiful month guys.....

Often, when job seekers try to sell themselves to potential employers, they load their C.V.s with vague claims that are transparent to recruiting managers, according to Scott Bennett, author of "The Elements of Resume Style" (published by AMACOM). By contrast, the most successful job seekers avoid these vague phrases on their C.V.s in favour of accomplishments.

Instead of making empty claims to demonstrate your work ethic, use brief, specific examples to demonstrate your skills. In other words, show, don't tell.

Bennett offers these examples:

Instead of... "Experience working in fast-paced environment"
Try... "Registered 120+ third-shift accident and emergency patients per night"

Instead of... "Excellent written communication skills"
Try... "Wrote jargon-free User Guide for 11,000 users"

Instead of... "Team player with cross-functional awareness"
Try... "Collaborated with clients, the Accounts Receivable Department and Sales to increase speed of receivables and prevent interruption of service to clients."

Instead of... "Demonstrated success in analysing client needs"
Try... "Created and implemented comprehensive needs assessment mechanism to help forecast demand for services and staffing."

The worst offenders
It’s good to be hard-working and ambitious, right? The recruiting manager won't be convinced if you can't provide solid examples to back up your claims. Bennett suggests being extremely careful before using these nice-sounding but empty words in your C.V.
