Madonna Falls.....

(photocredit;mapictures.com)
I watched as Madonna fell off stage yesterday at the Brits Awards due to a wardrobe malfunction. What amazed me however was not the fall, but her speed to get up and continue the performance. Now we are speaking about a 56 year old, not a hyper active teen. As I watched however, I was inspired and two lessons came to mind

Lesson 1; Life happens, but when it knocks you down, you have got to get up as quick as you can, and don't just get up but continue the performance. The end of a matter is more important...

Lesson 2; Do you realise that when she was down, the group performing with her did not help her up? She did it herself!! Now there's a role people play in your life, and there's a part you have got to do yourself. Not necessarily because they are wicked, but because there's only so much that a person can do in your life. The sooner you realise this, the better life and relationships will be.

Poverty Of Ambition

"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential".
Barack Obama

Yes! the president of the United States was quoted here. However I strongly believe that there is more to life than we dare to give. Elementary biology teaches us that there are millions of eggs but only one needs to be fertilized by a sperm to produce the foetus. Now we keep struggling, we competed with millions of eggs and came out victorious, but you know what that is as far as some people dare to go unfortunately. Each of us is born with a potential, a destiny, a call, a mission to accomplish. But YOU and only YOU can make that happen. We end up being the architects of our own misfortune or victory.

Discovering The Best.....

Few days ago, a friend sent me a link and said "Elly I think you should listen to this guy", prior to this she had never sent me anything of the sort and we have never had any conversation around preachers or spirituality. We both love the Lord, but our conversations tend to center around career and she's reached the top of a ladder that I am still half way through, so you understand what I mean now. However we share one thing in common though, we are both VERY REAL people, and we don't hide under a bubble claiming to be christians who don't even understand the precepts. I am very picky with whom I listen to, and really it just comes naturally to me by default, I don't know why lol! With Andrew Wommack however all I can say is that he is just the BEST I have listened to in a long while. Great man of God! Great Insight! I cant say it all, just listen for yourself.....

'Craving Significance'

'......You are mine'
Isaiah 43:1

Do you remember the hit song by Dean Martin, ‘You’re Nobody till Somebody Loves You’? Such lyrics show up our deepest concern. We want our lives to matter, to mean something. Our deepest fear is of coming and going—and nobody knowing! We strive with our lack of education, our spot on the financial totem pole, and our looks. That’s why it bothers us when a friend forgets to call, or a teacher forgets our name, or a colleague takes credit for something we have done. We crave attention, drop the names of important people in conversations, and put flashy hubcaps on our cars. Fashion designers tell us, ‘You’ll be somebody if you wear our jeans.’ So we go out and spend half our wages on a pair of Italian jeans. But then—horror of horrors—the style changes from tight to baggy, faded to black, and we’re left wearing yesterday’s jeans, feeling like yesterday’s news. Simply stated: you can’t gain significance from the outside. It’s an inside job. Your sense of significance must come from someone you trust, someone you know will never change, someone who knows the worst about you and always believes the best. And there’s only one such source: God. So read on: ‘Thus says the Lord, who created you…who formed you…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned…For I am the Lord your God…you [are] precious in My sight’ (vv. 1-4 NKJV)

Sparkles "Just Giving" With Ellyeleanor Foundation......

Displaying IMG-20150125-WA0001.jpg

Life is in stages, however the discovery of what stage we are in, depends entirely on us as individuals. We go from the point of acquisition, to the point of Giving back to the society we are part of. When it comes to giving however, the misconception we have got is that you must have so much before  you can give, but I say NO! Growing up, I was taught that if you cant give when you have little, you will not give equally when you have much. This is because giving is not entirely dependent on what we have, but much more on our attitude towards letting go of that which we think is ours.Displaying IMG-20150125-WA0000.jpgI have said on this blog several times that we support children in Africa HERE. This March, 'Sparkles Just Giving' In conjuction with Ellyeleanor Foundation will be in the maternal wards of some major hospitals in Lagos Nigeria, giving out essentials to mothers and their new borns who consider these little life essentials to be luxury. We are calling on you to be part of this project. No amount is too small, you can send us your donations either to our Uk address or Nigerian address. We necessarily are not after the money, but will appreciate if you could send us  baby clothes, diapers, formulas, towels, toiletries, soft toys etc. Please contact me for address details. These are some of the items we have received so far, and I will keep you updated as we make progress. If you want to get involve in the distribution of these items in the various centres/hospitals, please do contact me for dates and times when the visits will be made

A lot of things are capable of making us happy; A good holiday, a new car, new job etc, but the joy that comes from giving hope to a child, the sparkle in the eyes of the mother as she knows her child will be better off with the help she receives is incomparable. Give today and write your name in gold in the heart of a Child-Ellyeleanor

I Speak.....

34 days into 365 days already. Anyways how has yours been? busy, exciting, challenging? And how about those boring new year resolutions I hear people make? (laughs). Dont get me wrong, I believe in personal goal settings and breaking those goals into achievable targets. However I always say, the quest to be better at what we do, what we know, how we impact our world, should be a daily one and not just a forgotten resolution few days into every year. 2015 is still fresh regardless and I wish you all a fab year!!!
