Life Realities...2

Live a life you are proud of..... beyond peoples perception of you, enjoy a relationship that is true and you are genuinely investing in beyond all the Facebook likes and Instagram followers. Enjoy fashion because it suits you and its right for you and not with the sole purpose of hitting the tabloids, enjoy the solitude of proposing to your fiancee in quietness, looking into their eyes with a determination to make the relationship work as God helps you both in your differences, and not the unrealistic energy invested in all the dramatic proposals, you are no Hollywood director and never forget, your marriage is private not public, do not divulge so much information on social media. Build it, invest in it, give it your best shot, give it your time and spend less time on the facade of window dressing on social media. We can have healthy relationships if our priorities are right.  Live Real! Enjoy Life!!  -Ellyeleanor

Thoughts On Greece....

Greece means a lot to my parents and I, actually some defining moments in our lives took place in Greece, which we hold dear. With all the austerity measures, debt crisis, attempt  of pulling out of the Euro, its just a lot happening in that country.

In my opinion, from the little economics I can recall and the bits of the financial times I read, I think they would have been better off if they stuck to the Drachma, years back. Its a lot when you let others decide what goes on in your environs to a large extent. The question is are you giving other people so much power over your life??? Anyways my thoughts as always. In a few hours, Greece decides.....
Feel free to share your thoughts.....
Have a fab weekend guys..xoxo

The Expected End Is Here....

Its the first of July today, the 1st of many 1sts, the beginning of the 2nd half of the year, and as I observed my quiet time today and reflected on everything that had been happening both intrinsic and extrinsic, I could not help but think of  the death of the holiday makers in Tunisia, for all I care, it could have been me chilling on that beach, the constant killings in cold blood,  high death tolls, I will remind you if you have forgotten of the uncountable number of migrants trying to escape from North Africa, Libya etc who had their ships/boats capsized, the ruthless killings carried out by ISIS et al, the confusion of world leaders, the dwindling economy not just for developing or underdeveloped nations but the whole world as a whole, the redefinition of morality by the society we live in, the failure of the church to seek that which is essential, but rather pursue"mega places of worship", fame ,fortune and importance, the redefinition of marriage by individuals who were not at the genesis of it...... It all points to one thing.... We are in the last days,Mt 24;6-14( 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.) take heed how you live, what you listen to, what you believe, what forms your opinion. Because the clock is ticking..... the time is short, the devil is on a rampage, you might not have a second chance, life is ephemeral and regardless of what you believe..... We must all stand to give account of the way we lived the life given to us..... 2Cor5;10(For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.).

May God help us run the race with understanding, that is, if you are in the race at all. If you stopped, please continue, running on the wrong track? make amends, not running at all? There's still time if you are reading this. Tomorrow is not guaranteed......

The Beauty and Utility of Poetry -Dave Neita

Most times we say things like I dont like this or that, but it makes a whole lot of difference if we are involved in someway or the other. The passion or interest just gets boosted. I remember a couple years ago, I wouldnt be caught watching Formula One, but I had a friend then who couldnt go a moment without keeping tabs on the grand prix and before you know it, it began to rub off on me. Now I am not a huge fan of poetry but I met Dr David for the first time two years ago and it was quite an interesting experience. Being a career driven person with so much determination to suceed, once I identify a person who I think has reached a height I aim to be, I boldly go up to them and strike a conversation with them. Meeting David, was one of such moments and he's quite an interesting person to speak to and he motivated me in so many ways. While speaking to him, he emphasised on the power of networking and right there,He sent me invites to listen to notable individuals which held at the prestigious London School Of Economics and actually till date I still get invited. But I must say, the conferences had a huge difference on my perception of life and success and has been a contributing factor positively to most of the things I do. Tell me about"Iron sharpens Iron" hahaha. David was however invited to the TED talk and he delivered his poetry. As I listened, I smiled, at some point it left me reasoning about the words he spoke, at other times I laughed but most importantly I enjoyed Poetry, which I never knew I could enjoy. I have attached the link here, and I hope you enjoy listening to David

Being Dad!

Today we celebrate the fathers who have discovered the powers of their knees and not their fists, fathers who are wise enough to realize that a mans greatness does not depend on the number of women he has conquered but the many battles he has conquered to ensure that the center holds in the family for which he is responsible, by ensuring that respect and love are the bedrock of stability in the home rather than fear and torment because he is considered a tyrant by the same people, whom he is expected to love and protect.

We celebrate wise men who have the tedious task of prioritizing between cash in the bank and the investment in the lives of his family members which has no depreciating coefficient.

Men who have realized that the independent variable in their lives is the one who was before the world began and knows that  everything else is a dependent variable. I call them the men who have realized that the constant ' K' is always constant in maths, but in our lives, the only constant 'K' is God.

I celebrate men who are not intimidated to empower the women in their lives because they have realized that they both belong to same team and together they win.

Men who have realized that nothing is forever and no matter how 'Dapper', 'Loaded' 'Brainy' and 'Influential' they might think they are, it could all change in a moment. And we brought nothing into this world and will take nothing as we exit.

Men who realize that women are 'Different' not 'Difficult' and are able to communicate to this difference and stir up the best in their homes.

And best of all I celebrate the 'REAL' men who are not all these but are working daily to be the best of what they have been created to be, fulfilling Gods purpose.
God says of Abraham, "I know he will raise his children to fear me". What will be said of you?

Happy Fathers Day xoxo
