I have been reading the UCB devotional for over 15 years and it has been such a huge blessing. I advise everyone to subscribe and receive either the electronic form daily or the hard copy quarterly. Its a really practical devotional for victorious christian living

‘I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down.’

Nehemiah 6:3

Success usually comes at the end of struggle; if it came easily, everybody would be experiencing it. When it comes to success, there are no shortcuts, reduced prices, or ‘special deals’. The value of anything is determined by the price you’re willing to pay for it. And when you truly value something, you won’t easily jeopardise it because you remember what it cost you. What are you afraid of today? Failing? Your concern should be the opposite - regret that you didn’t try. Are you afraid of criticism? Face it, as you move upward in life certain people will resent your success; that’s true whether you’re arrogant or not. We all want to be liked, but at some point you’ve got to ask yourself, ‘How much am I willing to forfeit in order to be liked and accepted?’ Nehemiah, the builder of Jerusalem’s walls, said, ‘I am doing a great work, so…I cannot come down.’ Any time you defer to the opinion of people instead of the will of God, you are ‘coming down’. Stay up on the wall! Keep laying bricks - or whatever God has called you to do. Advancement often brings isolation and criticism, and God may be grooming you right now for a new level of blessing by exposing you to both. Can you handle it? Not everybody can. But if you’re the kind of person who can’t sit on the sidelines and watch while others play the game - go for it! God will reward every step of faith you take and every sacrifice you make.

A call to prayer...

Its 1.42am my location and I got up to worship.... The Lord is seeking those to worship Him in spirit and in truth... There is a lot going on in the world for any christian to rest on his/her oars & not pray...

Gratitude journal...

I have quite a few journals for all my business ideas and plans for the future. And I update them frequently as I get new ideas. However few days ago I attended a talk and one of the  speakers spoke about having a gratitude journal and I thought it a great idea. Its easy to take a lot of things for granted. Yesterday, I had to drive 109.3 miles away from London and I was not in the right frame of mind to do that, not after  the kind of week I had in which lots of things seemed to go pear shaped. I actually tried to get someone to drive but the bill was unbelievable. But at short notice, God sent just the right help free of charge. And I don't take that for granted. I have experienced God's help in amazing ways this year and I will be writing it all down for a very long time, not just this year but I plan to have it as part of my lifestyle. I picked up this journal today and I have started writing already. Think it's a good idea? 🙂 then give it a try
In between I am a sucker for lovely notepads, I just can't keep away.😆
