Prayer For Nations!!!

If you are an ardent reader of this blog, you will realise that I hardly write about the negative events happening around the globe. One of my friends calls me a "news junkie" that is because I am always aware of what is happening. Infact I listen to over three different news channels at different times of the day, plus twitter broadcasts etc and I know it is the same for most people. So if we can get the news all over the place, I personally choose not to draw more emphasis on the negativity. Today, all over world there is just so much happening all over the place and more yet to happen. If its not governments fighting and resulting in death of many, it is terrorists trying to fight their cause by inflicting harm on unsuspecting individuals, or even mothers killing their own children, an entire plane going missing, or a ship sinking with school children, or over 200 school children being kidnapped. I could continue going on and on, the list is endless.

However, it beats my imagination how people spend hours, trying to analyse the situation, condemning the governments and seating aloof doing nothing. Over 5 weeks ago, over 200 school girls were abducted by the terrorist group boko haram in Nigeria. This became a placard carrying session, with different rallies and many trying to use the occassion to come to the lime light. Well you tell me we were trying to create awareness!!! The awareness has been created and what next? In some countries people of like minds come together to form charities, trusts, foundations, NGOs for different causes so we should not only rely on the government for change. You can be the change!

And if you cant do that, you can do the least which yields great result PRAY! 2chronicles 7:14 says: If my people who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, I will hear from heaven and heal their land.
Say a sincere prayer for the nations today.

LIFE REALITIES.....

Yesterday, I had a client come to see me and as I reviewed her accounts, I was really impressed. She had done really well for herself looking at her financial statement and maybe I felt that way because she was just a year older than I was. However as I spoke with her, she told me she was actually retired. Wow, I hear people retire at 30 but I am yet to understand how that works lol. And as I got really inspired at this point, I asked her how she was able to do that? She went on to tell me that she had actually been retired for the past five years because she had been diagnosed with a bad form of breast cancer which wasnt caught on time. At that my face fell,my speech changed and again my perception of life came to reality again. We worry about several things in life and forget to live for the moment, to impact the lives we should, bless the lives we should, love the people we should, and love the God we should.

The picture of me was taken both in 2011 and 2014. Three years on..... and its just like yesterday. The last time someone asked you what your latest achievement was, what was your response? The gift of life is one that should not be taken for granted, and if you must LIVE, then make a DIFFERENCE, because tomorrow isnt guaranteed.

At the end of the day, what we consider important, will not come to our rescue. Make peace with God today and watch Him affect every aspect of you and become a blessing to humanity

Song Of The Day.....

Bob Marley quoted "The greatness of man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively" However I always say and strongly believe that one day, we will only be memories to people around us, and we should do our best to be good memories. All the hustle and bustle, the greed, the covetousness, the burning appetite for more money, more fame, more control, will surely come to an end one day. And all that is going to count is standing before the Master and hearing Him say Well done child, you have fought the good fight, receive your crown. It couldnt have been sung any better. Lovely song, powerful insight, beautiful lyrics. Well Done... Deitrick Haddon

Dreams Come True....

I am no snooker fan, however I listened to the present champion who just won yesterday speak, and something he said struck me. Selby dedicated his win to his late father, who died when he was 16.
"To beat Ronnie in the final to win my first world title is a dream come true," he added: that his father died when he was 16 and was still trying out his passion for snooker, but before his father died, he promised him he was going to win the championship, and 14 years after, this dream has come true.
Lesson 1: Regardless of how long it takes, dont give up on your dream. The bible says, in Habbakuk 2 vs 3
"For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay"

Mark Selby celebrates

Five-time champion O'Sullivan, who Mark Selby played against and who had never lost a world final, reduced the deficit to 15-14, only for Selby to win the next three frames..

O'Sullivan said: "I tried my hardest but he was just too good,"

Lesson 2 : Give it your best shot before considering giving up, listen to O' Sullivan's comment, "he was just too good". Now the question is how good have you tried to be?
Colin Powell says "A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work".

Have a great day people, and give today your best...... ellyeleanor

Yesterdays Lesson.....

Sometimes we mutter some words under our breath to God, we do not really consider them to be prayers, because probably, we do not adopt the right posture when we do it, or we do not say it seriously, expecting a result /answer to our prayers.

But you know what? He goes ahead and answers those very requests we mutter under our breath.
The bible says we have a high priest who understands everything we go through. He is not oblivious of our needs, desires, plan and pain. Most of us have earthly fathers, who sometimes just make large deposits into our accounts without us requesting, some of us inherit properties and assets from parents while they are still living which leave us bewildered when they do it. So now imagine God? You do not always have to ask cos He already knows what we need. And even when we mutter those petitions under our breath, He knows, He sees, He hears, and sometimes He answers if its going to do us good.  Ephesians 3 vs 20 says: " Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or IMAGINE, according to his power that is at work within us".

The key word for me there is IMAGINE. Even our unspoken words, He knows, because He loves and understands us. Dont be discouraged, keep praying, keep believing, God is able and you are so valuable to Him. Have an amazing MAY guys....ellyeleanor
