Secondly, the worst thing that can happen to a man is not blindness but having eyes and yet not being able to see.

Todays Thoughts.....
I normally walk past some blind individuals but I must shamefully admit that the thought of how different life must be for them does not really sink in. Probably due to the fact that we are too busy getting involved in our own stuff and ignoring that which constitutes a lifestyle for some. Today however, I had to have an official conversation with an intelligent, articulate middle aged man who went blind at the age of 15 due to a brain tumor. And trust me the 2 hours will remain indelible in my thoughts. As I sat with him, it dawned on me that I was so confused on how to start, but at the end of the 2 hours, the environment felt so different I was laughing and I was so relaxed I asked him so many personal questions even up to his relationships, hahaha! Yea I know curiosity killed the cat, but I am no cat. And even as I led him to his escort, he held my hands which filled me with so much emotions as I imagined being in his shoes.
Lesson of the day, learn to be thankful for the things you have got, regardless of how small you might think they are. And don't get it twisted, LITTLE does not mean INSIGNIFICANT.
Secondly, the worst thing that can happen to a man is not blindness but having eyes and yet not being able to see.

KEEP YOUR BREASTS TO YOURSELF!
I pray for a better society but it starts with you and I, and with what we applaud, consciously or unconsciously.
Our culture has become overly sexual, it’s all around us TV,
Film, the music industry, the internet. Sexuality is being used to sell
everything from toothpaste to cars.
These companies and industries that are using the motto “sex
sells,” lack the moral integrity to
separate morality from profit. Is it any wonder problems arise because our
children are being raised up in a sexually obsessed culture. A culture that is
giving the green light of approval to just about every sexual practice there is
.
“They’ve taken our two X chromosomes and turned them into
XXX DVD’s”
Our natural modesty is being suppressed, and desires are
heightened. It’s no wonder we are seeing an increase in so many sexually
related problems, including addictions to pornography, STD’s, broken homes,
unwanted pregnancies, abortion, abuse, and sex crimes.
Not so many years ago a lot of what is being shown in
advertising, and on TV would have been
protested against as indecent. People
have become desensitized to blatant displays of nudity, and sexuality.
The present attitude is just about anything is acceptable,
as long as its not hurting anyone, BUT IT IS! In one way, or another lack of
morality has consequences, hurts, and erodes all of society. It is time to turn
away from what our society has been force feeding us, and to listen to what God
commands us to do.

Celebrating Maya Angelou
Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible.
Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.
Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.
My mother said I must always be intolerant of ignorance but understanding of illiteracy. That some people, unable to go to school, were more educated and more intelligent than college professors.

Prayer For Nations!!!
If you are an ardent reader of this blog, you will realise that I hardly write about the negative events happening around the globe. One of my friends calls me a "news junkie" that is because I am always aware of what is happening. Infact I listen to over three different news channels at different times of the day, plus twitter broadcasts etc and I know it is the same for most people. So if we can get the news all over the place, I personally choose not to draw more emphasis on the negativity. Today, all over world there is just so much happening all over the place and more yet to happen. If its not governments fighting and resulting in death of many, it is terrorists trying to fight their cause by inflicting harm on unsuspecting individuals, or even mothers killing their own children, an entire plane going missing, or a ship sinking with school children, or over 200 school children being kidnapped. I could continue going on and on, the list is endless.

However, it beats my imagination how people spend hours, trying to analyse the situation, condemning the governments and seating aloof doing nothing. Over 5 weeks ago, over 200 school girls were abducted by the terrorist group boko haram in Nigeria. This became a placard carrying session, with different rallies and many trying to use the occassion to come to the lime light. Well you tell me we were trying to create awareness!!! The awareness has been created and what next? In some countries people of like minds come together to form charities, trusts, foundations, NGOs for different causes so we should not only rely on the government for change. You can be the change!
And if you cant do that, you can do the least which yields great result PRAY! 2chronicles 7:14 says: If my people who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, I will hear from heaven and heal their land.
Say a sincere prayer for the nations today.
